Add a hint of charm with classic brass bells for the holidays that will have your home ringing with joy. Integrating Christmas bells is a simple way to decorate highlighting features of your home. I’m sharing my favorite brass bells, ways to use them and timeless inspiration for the holidays and beyond!

I love the timeless simplicity of brass bells – Christmas Bells, Nautical Bells and even Jingle Bells! I like to integrate every shape, size and finish throughout our home during the holidays, but keep one or two lingering throughout the year!

Brass Bells

Just as there are many ways to incorporate these into your home decorating, there are equally as many styles, finishes, and materials.

Brass bells are a nod to a historical material that was frequently used in nautical designs for centuries. It’s what our kitchen dinner bell is made from, and it makes a lovely sound thanks to the weight.

However, for the holidays you’ll often find gold Christmas bells that are made of a wide variety of materials. They are often iron pieces (presumably because it’s less expensive to produce) painted with lovely shades of gold and brass.

Some are antiqued for a vintage appeal, and some are brighter shades of gold and even copper. They are often tied together with rustic rope, and we have enjoyed dressing them up with shades of velvet ribbon over the years.

There’s something about the combination of elegance and rustic charm that I just love, especially at the holidays!

I added a charming brass bell in the lake cottage kitchen to add a little charm – and function! We installed it in the kitchen nestled next to the backdoor. A gentle ring lets everyone on the dock know that it’s time for dinner!

Nautical Brass Bell

A timeless treasure to integrate just inside or outside a door. It adds nautical charm for lakeside and coastal homes, and lends itself well as a dinner bell!

Polished Brass Bell

The fluted silhouette elevates holiday decor and it’s polished brass finish makes the season feel merry and bright.
