Open to all IA members, the Manufacturing Sector Group, led by manufacturing expert entrepreneur, and IA Chapter Chair, Paul Hogendoorn, meets four times a year, both in person and virtually. Each meeting blends information sharing, manufacturing-focused check-ins, and deep dives into timely topics, ensuring that every session delivers practical insights and fresh perspectives.

This year, participants enjoyed behind-the-scenes tours at Nye Manufacturing Ltd., Wellmaster, and Molded Precision Components, gaining real-world insights into how these companies are using data to inspire and motivate employees, while innovating to uncover new efficiencies and drive performance.

At the core of this group is collaboration — bringing together members from diverse manufacturing companies to learn from one another, cross-collaborate, and share best practices. Whether addressing operational challenges or big-picture trends, the discussions help members spark new ideas and accelerate continuous improvement.

Meeting Format: From the Plant Floor to the Big Picture

The Manufacturing Sector Group’s format is designed to balance hands-on operational learning with strategic, forward-thinking discussion:

Two meetings per year focus on plant floor operational areas of interest, diving into themes like process optimization, technology adoption, and workforce development.
The other two meetings explore broader industry issues such as market shifts, leadership, sustainability, and innovation trends shaping the future of manufacturing. To further enhance learning, IA members are encouraged to invite their plant floor “Level 2-I-C” leaders — those directly involved in daily operations — to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution within their organizations.

Building a Stronger Manufacturing Community

Through this initiative, the Manufacturing Sector Group continues to strengthen the IA network by fostering a culture of openness, shared experience, and peer learning. Members leave each session with actionable insights, new connections, and renewed energy to lead their teams and drive meaningful change in their businesses.

Interested in Industry-Specific Peer Collaboration?

The Manufacturing Sector Group is just one example of how IA is expanding programming to meet member needs. We’ve also recently launched an AI Peer Group and will be introducing additional industry-focused communities in 2026. If you’d like to discuss membership options and how IA’s sector groups can support your business goals, reach out to Stefanie at [email protected].
